For a team that was so high on its pitching depth, I have a very hard time understanding how just one starter from outside of the regular rotation (Daniel Ponce de Leon) has made just one start so far this season.
We are approaching 10 turns through the rotation, and the lack of eagerness to press some buttons suggests the Cardinals are not as confident in their other options as they suggested they were after the setbacks of Carlos Martinez and Alex Reyes.
