I cited OPS because it put into perspective his total offense in the context of second basemen across the league.
I don't think anyone questions Wong's defense.
But I hear constant critiques of his offense and how he can't hit well enough to start, even when his defense is good.
But his OPS is top-10 among qualifying second basemen.
So he's the best defensive second baseman in the game and a top-10 OPS guy at the position.
And he shouldn't be starting?
That doesn't make sense for me.
Again, he needs to hit better to be an All-Star.
He is worthy of a Gold Glove.
And the calls for him to be moved or benched don't make sense to me.
