I don't see much IU hoops, but that's pretty funny.
He's been diving and getting dirty so far here in games, so his shoulder looks ok for now .......
Here's the thing about 19 year old Cuban phenom Luis Robert -- it's going to come down WHEN the league decides he is officially a free agent. If it is before June 15, the Cards could definitely get in the mix for the kid. But if it's after that day, and he doesn't become a free agent until the next signing period in July, the Cards will have their hands tied because of spending limit regulations.
I haven't, and yes, I'd love to go to the Cards game there that weekend (and also thus go to the Cards games on Fri and Sat at PNC Park, one of my favorite sports venues to watch a game). It's neat that the Cards are in this gimmicky game, but it's a pain for the players and staff, I presume.
I think you're asking what was the point of my column on those fellas, and here's the point -- third base is a position that's fair to question, because Peralta hasn't proved anything yet since returning from injury, and Jedd's last three years of at-bat totals have been 400, 421 and 400. The other positions are more stable, with more history.
I don't know about THE best, considering the White Sox have acquired like the top 37 prospects in baseball, but clearly the Cards are in a better situation then they were after Piscotty graduated to the bigs, and there was that talent gulch for a little while.
That's actually a really good Q! Though Jedd homers more against right-handed pitching, if you look at his splits and such. But the Q sets up the bigger question -- will Matheny be tempted to tinker with Wong's playing time, which could affect Wong's consistency at second?
Yeah they'll make it major-league ready
These are good points, and others have asked about Manny M as well! It's a fascinating debate -- do you gamble on Longoria in his 30s or gamble on enticing Manny to come to the Paris of America? I say, if you can get Evan, you get Evan, as long as it's not a stupid haul demanded (what am I saying -- of course it'll be a stupid haul demanded. Consider what Washington gave up for just Adam Eaton. Ok, change of plans. Operation Machado!!!!)
OK ladies and gents, this is always one of the most-fun times of my week, but I've gotta run -- gotta watch Waino pitch here in Jupiter. Have a great Tues!
