No, I believe the Blues should try to win these games. They need to reestablish team toughness before the season ends. Schmaltz has gained some exposure and experience.
I'm old. I just can't eat much any more. But Balzer, in his prime he gobbled wings like a wood chipper. The H-Man was always up to the challenge.
Yeah, before my time. But what about Denis Morel and Mick "Mister" McGeough?
No, I believe he is feeling the heat.
Like I said earlier, perfect targets were Ryan O'Reilly and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Those are classic two-way center with term left. But like I said, I couldn't imagine getting either without moving some of the "untouchable" assets.
If these team completely tanks, he would have to be in some peril. At the very least a staff shakeup is in order given the power-play failure.
Dunn has mostly held up and he is clearly one of this team's Top 6. While I would play a guy like Schmaltz over Gunnarsson, I would want Bortuzzo in the lineup if possible to remind other Blues what a body check looks like.
Contract term means nothing when it comes to job security. If the Blues spend to the cap next season, they will have an $80 million payroll. What is spent on coaching is pretty tiny compared to that investment.
He is around the team. If I am him, I let Armstrong play the bad cop and pick my spots to be positive. Then again, if I owned the team I might have flipped out Ron Caron-like and thrown an epic fit.
OK, time is up for this week. Good stuff as always! Thanks a lot for your comments and questions. See you next week.
