I don't see it. Army wanted to move him. Hitch is gone, but I don't think that matters. Oshie is going to have his pick of teams and he's going to be $5 million plus, maybe $6 million, so none of it seems to make sense for the Blues.
I think they'll make a deal. First-rounders are nice, and the Blues have had some success with mid-to-late first-rounders, but Top 10 picks are nicer. Or of course they could package the picks for an established player.
Hutton has another year left on his deal, although with the way he's playing wouldn't Vegas have an eye on him?? If he plays out the year here in St. Louis, you'd like to think that Husso could be ready in two years, but you never know with goalies. If he's backing up Allen, I don't see why he wouldn't be ready.
When I talk to people in Chicago, they say, "This guy is going to play in the NHL ..."
You think Tom is ever going to get one of the Vegas trips? I don't even gamble. But with those buffets, he's going to have to fight me for a trip.
Are you married? You sound like me talking to my wife. I think Allen can be the guy, so yes, it looks like y you're going to be 0-for-3.
Tweet the link to the podcast and I'll retweet it ... that'll get you two more listeners. Any tips? If you can get latched on with somebody, even in a non-compensated role, work your tail off and be dependable. I started with the Post as a free-lancer, begging to cover high school volleyball and softball games. I was 19-20 years old, my friends were at parties on Friday night and I was in bed because I was assigned to cover cross country for the Post the next morning. You've got to do what you've got to do and it doesn't happen overnight.
He said he did it because the Blues had some expiring contracts on the horizon ... I believe Schwartz, Backes, etc., and they wanted to get Lehtera done early so they could prepare for others. It appears to have backfired.
I've been covering the NHL for 12 years and the schedule has been quirky every year. This year they had the challenge of working in the bye week. It is what is, not great, but what are you going to do?
It makes no sense. They should calculate it per 2 minutes.
I don't believe they've been flagged for one. They should have in one game (Detroit or Buffalo?) but it didn't get called.
Nope. He shrugged it off and said Koivu owed him a beer.
I didn't notice, but I'll check into it. Hutton told me yesterday that Brodeur has given them a few ideas that may help them, such as breaking the game into quarters and help with their breathing. I knew that Allen didn't use a bottle before, so if he started using one when Brodeur took over, then it has to be connected.
No, but a Sunday off is long overdue.
It could be something like exchanging a minor-league player.
I can't imagine that if the Blues are planning to re-sign him that he would enter next season, his final one on this deal, without an extension. My guess is that if they re-sign him, which I do think will happen, it would be announced before next season.
No. Players have to have more than two years of pro experience and he does not.
No, he's actually quite funny.
Yes, Army told me today that Fabbri is working hard to be back for training camp.
Louie wishes he looked like Matt Damon when he took the mask off.
Yes, leave them at home and tell them dinner is in the fridge. See you at the game.
I have chatted with him briefly. I don't know what he wants to do. I don't see him coming back here, although you never know. My guess is that he'll coach somewhere.
Yeah, if that isn't what ends the penalty and the power play lasted five seconds for whatever reason, that should not be a successful PK.
Anywhere. Instead I'm going to recommend that you go to Milo's on The Hill for their pepperjack cheese balls. Thank me next week.
The rest of you can thank me now. What an unbelievable chat. If I told you that 1,000 people were in the chat room today, I'd be lying, but you probably believed the rest of the stuff that I wrote. Thanks for you time! Have a great weekend!
