Oh, I don't know. Most _ not all _ of the NFL players were pretty "normal" _ whatever that is _ and pretty easy to deal with. There's a sameness in the sense that beyond ability it takes a certain amount of dedication, focus, discipline and effort to get to the level they're at in professional sports.. The access is a little better in hockey. For example, I could never imagine getting a football player or a coach for that matter on game day. I think it was a little easier to get to the personalities of football players than hockey players. But part of that is being around, and establish trust. Compared to writers like Tom Timmermann, Jeremy Rutherford and Lou Korac I'm still the new kid on the block.
Not much. I think Berube sensed the series was at a tipping point _ kind of a point of no return _ so if he was going to make a switch it was now or never. Schenn in particular had been struggling pretty much the entire series prior to the switch. Without it, I think it's safe to say, the Blues might very well have their golf clubs out right now.
I don't know if it will be me. But that's definitely on our "things to do" list for the P-D during the series. Thanks for the reminder.
Yeah, I'm no expert on Dallas, but the parts of the Nashville series I watched, they definitely looked quicker than the Preds. As for Dunn in particular, playing with Pietrangelo meant he was more frequently matched up with top lines. And that could have led to some issues. But I think it's important to keep in mind that Dunn is still only 22 and this is his first taste of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
If you have a questions, this is your moment. We currently have no questions _ zero _ on the docket. Don't be shy.
I think that's an issue only if it's deemed an oversized stick like the one used by a tall guy like Parayko.
Yes. After the AHL season ends, players may be recalled without counting against the "4-player recall rule" that goes into effect after the trade deadline. But I wouldn't look for Kostin or Reinke any time soon, because they're currently skating separately from the rest of the roster. The extras that are skating with the "varsity" are Blais, Bortuzzo, Del Zotto, MacEachern, Sanford, Thorburn.
After the Parayko stick incident in that Dec.14 Colorado game, the league admitted it made a mistake and that Tarasenko should not have been penalized in OT for using Parayko's stick. So in theory, yeah, the NHL could admit it made a mistake. But I have not seen or heard of anything like that today.
Thanks for playing and we'll see you next week. Enjoy Round 2.
