Not a whole lot of talk about him in camp. Have tried Berube a couple of times on the topic, but he didn't say a whole lot. I guess understandably so because Berube's focusing on a run for another Cup. Hofer and Tucker won't be on the travel squad to Edmonton. Remember, in Phase 4 you can only have 31 players; the Blues have 33 currently in camp. (If you include Dunn.)
But he's got some size and sandpaper to his game. He evolved into a scorer his last two seasons in the AHL _ as a point-a-game defenseman. As you may have noticed he played a lot of forward in Wednesday's scrimmage because Steen didn't practice.
I was told in the spring, that he needed to work on his skating ability and his conditioning.
I'm sure the scouting department is thrilled with what they've seen in camp. Remember this guy was a seventh-rounder and No. 200 overall in the 2018 draft. So this guy could be quite a find..
I've talked to him a couple of times during camp and am writing about him (and Hofer) for tomorrow..
