I have little doubt that DeJong will hit seventh when he returns, subject to change dependent on how well he produces.
Questionable. He hasn't made much of an impact on various committees so far.
I could see Kim going to the bullpen if the Cardinals had enough starters, which they don't, at the moment. I would like to see Woodford get a shot although I think Oviedo has the better stuff in the long run.
There's a candy bar in Lars' future. There's money to be made here by somebody.
Fair enough. Cabrera hung in as long as he could.
George always is on my list of candidates. I hope it happens.
We worry about that in late July. Somebody else will be hurt by then.
The six-man rotation will be out, at least temporarily, after this week. Two off days next week. One more off day this month on June 21.
First, unless my eyes are deceiving me, the Cardinals haven't been chasing the Brewers for a couple of years and not this year either. I'm not certain of what will happen at the deadline, which is not like it's tomorrow or anything. You don't have to reach for the antacids yet.
Maybe so, but without the daily threat of COVID postponements, you're talking about seven-inning doubleheaders for only rainouts and the rainy season is almost beyond us. I fear that all these rules will survive after this season, with the possible exception of the three-batter rule.
I did say "maybe." But would you rather see Webb right now or Miller?
I would consider it, but he and they have a long way to go this year.
It wasn't necessarily Manfred's call. The DH was only an experiment last year because of the coronavirus and the effects it would have. The contract for this year, which expires in December, called for the NL to have the DH.
Yes, I believe he has surprised many people although they won't say so.
I don't think he's about done. He still is a 'plus' player defensively, and he did hit over .300 in 2020. Let's let this play out for a bit longer before you make lineup changes. I don't see a No. 3 man come to mind unless it's Arenado again and you bat O'Neill fourth. But I'm not sure O'Neill is ready to hit fourth every day yet.
