Good question. It just depends. Some really don't read anything. Other read Fangraphs and study swings and pitches more than the most-dedicated saber-types. Pham is the second type.
105 strikeouts. Grichuk and Fowler leading the way with 16 a piece.
I think you are wise to list this among your biggest concerns. He's getting hit hard. Few swings and misses. Really stood out in spring when he got lit up by the Mets that day.
Mozeliak was asked if moving Matt Carpenter from first base is an option: "My hope is we don't have to go down that path," he said.
We received the answer this afternoon. It seems to be: not anymore.
I have heard the gripe about the defense, more than anything. Fans here expect routine plays to be made, and every once in a while they want something extra. This team hasn't done that. It didn't do that last season either.
No. Predictions are un-winnable. You get slammed when you shoot low and called a homer when you aim high. They're also silly, in my opinion. But people like to yell at us, so we do them.
Maybe Piscotty grows into it, but he certainly doesn't fit the conventional definition of a cleanup hitter at the moment. I don't think they should have kept Holliday, because his defense was getting hard to hide. (Again, I did not expect Matt Adams to be playing in left field.) Cleanup was always going to be a huge question with this current team. Now it looks like one of multiple weaknesses. But Piscotty's been hitting since he got healthy, so let's see what he can do. Ideally, a third baseman with a big bat joins the team in the future.
Very, if you check out some of the comments posted below. No one ducked at the ballpark today.
I wish I could find out, and I agree 100 percent.
Definitely. He spent so much time focusing on his defense, it's good to see his bat coming back around.
Adams in left. Peeps are the worst candy in the world. Are they even candy? More like marshmallow nothing-ness. Gross!
They teach fundamentals. Some guy named Oquendo.
Hitting 30 bombs wins you some fans.
We can't do anything. The Cardinals can. They have a game coming up right now.
No, I think that's a reach.
Nonsense! I read the comments section. This is like church compared to that. But I do have to run. Game starting soon. I'm going to drop in a few links and shut this bad boy down. Thanks for stopping by, everyone. Sorry to those who asked questions I didn't get to. You can find me on Twitter at @Ben_Fred. Or the trusty email. One of the pros will be back in the saddle next week. Until next time ...
I just got another question about hair and beards, so I am officially out. See you all next time. Enjoy the game.
