Those are the rules, for anything after the fifth inning. Blown save stats are more applicable for the closers because, for those blown saves in the sixth, seventh or eighth, the relievers weren't going to get a chance to get the save anyway.
My first assignment was a bicycle race at Penrose Park. I covered high schools, mostly football, for several years. It's a good way to learn the area. But I also indulged in Spirits of St. Louis basketball, St. Louis U. hockey and Leon Spinks as heavyweight boxing champion.
For all those who wanted to run him of town on the next freight train, I would think a reassessment would be in order.
John Tudor has been a regular at Fantasy Camp, I believe, and he turns up a time or two during the season for autograph sessions or reunions. He gets my vote, too, when the HOF meetings are held.
I wasn't making that comparison at all. Strictly applying to Robinson, I feel certain he wasn't accorded the human respect that he should have received, as a ball player or not.
I think it's time for a contest. Take your best shots.
I didn't see any home runs here on Sunday. You have to understand the Cardinals have played a lot of games against home-run teams like Milwaukee and Los Angeles. Let's let the weather get a little warmer and more humid and see what happens.
Martinez covers much more ground than Luzinski. Luzinski, however, hit many more home runs.
You don't see many managers, no matter how patient they profess to be, staying with the same lineup when the team isn't producing./losing.
Yadi likes winning. And he thinks this team can do that.
There was a "conga" for a while. Different players seem to have different home-run situations. I don't always pay attention.
Yes, it would be rare. It depends on how good his season has been. If he has a big year and stays healthy all the way through, he likely would go for a multi-year deal. If either of the above doesn't happen, he probably wouldn't be offered arbitration anyway.
All seems relatively good. They seem to get along well enough at the various functions in which both are involved. No real reason for it to be otherwise now.
Those minor league teams have been playing for only about four weeks, so I haven't drawn any conclusions, especially at any place below Triple-A.
I would hope, at some point. He's not too far removed from getting into the veterans' category, which should expedite the process.
Neither. No team is going to win 100 games this season. Too much balance.
I didn't know the season was about to end before it even got to May.
Lonnie Smith. You watched, first, to see if he would keep his feet. Then, with his arm, you never knew where the ball was going. Once a throw from Lonnie ended up in the left-field box seats at Wrigley Field and all the runners stopped.
Colby Rasmus might come the closest, but he did have some good years in the majors.
