It wasn't apparent to them then. They though that Carlos, Reyes and Gomber might all be in the rotation. Because of injury, none is.
Or Pirates. Or Tigers. Or Royals. Or Orioles. Or Marlins.
You won't see the intentional walk in the American League because the lineups have nine hitters with the DH. If Houston played a whole season in the NL again, I guarantee you at least one No. 8 hitter would be walked ahead of a pitcher. That said, Jeff has done a great job.
Apparently that is not "uppermost" in their minds, as some would say.
I don't deal in hypotheticals, especially on Aug. 5.
I would try to work around that, if I could.
Every pitcher he faced no doubt was pitching him like he was Christian Yelich. If he says he was working on things, let's give him more than one game to derive the answer. .

A young player with that much potential does not need to be sitting on the bench. He's better off getting more at-bats in Triple-A, where he never has played a whole season. He plays here. Or he stays there. In September, it's different when he'll be here anywhere as a call-up and your rosters expand.
The outfielder could be very much in flux next year. I don't see O'Neill, Bader and Martinez all being here.
Theo has multiple World Series rings, though, as the chief baseball executive.
All the BFIB presumably weren't on this chat.
The season is not a success with a first-game wild-card loss. But it isn't a failure either. It's sort of a limbo. That said, though, they need a frontline starting pitcher, however they can get him.
The only trades that can be made are at the minor-league level but if a player is your organization before Sept. 1, he is playoff eligible.
No more than two weeks and probably no more than one. It's time for performance and not talk.
