While I've been here in the chat, it's been reported that Williams has entered the transfer portal, by The Athletic. It's my understanding that Williams will check on his NFL draft evaluations and could transfer to another school if the league suggests he return to school for another year. His role had diminished some in recent weeks. Jeffcoat clearly passed him on the depth chart. At one point a walk-on was playing over him, too. He was a part of the rotation but clearly wants to explore his options.
Some bowls have already announced no fans this year. Most of them have not made any public decisions. I wouldn't expect to see big numbers at any games.
My educated guess is it has something to do with upcoming TV contracts with the major networks.
It's part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. It was announced months ago. Mizzou played at West Virginia last year as part of the same one-day event.
Punter Grant McKinniss is the only one who has confirmed that he'll definitely return. I'd expect wideout Micah Wilson and maybe nose tackle Kobie Whiteside to maybe come back. Could be a few more - but not Josh Bledsoe, Tyree Gillespie or Larry Rountree.
Not sure but I believe he moved back to Minnesota. Probably something in the world of fishing/wildlife/forestry.
Parker Braun and Kobe Brown play the four. The newcomers will get a chance, Yaya Keita and Trevon Brazile. Wilmore could step in to play the five.
I think it's more a matter of not having many dynamic receivers who can't turn short or intermediate passes into longer gains that end in the end zone. This team has a lot of possession receivers that will get you the first down but not necessarily a touchdown on a long play. This team has a lot of short-yardage touchdown runs.
For one, Mizzou doesn't have to pay Liberty for last night's game because Mizzou is playing there next year. I think more regional nonconference games make all the sense in the world. Scheduling isn't easy. It takes two sides to agree on a contract.
He did last year. They turned up the tempo and designed plays to get the two lead guards downhill - and you saw the results when they started winning more games.
Honestly, I haven't asked him. The interview setup this year on Zoom really minimizes the questions we can ask of the head coach and that topic just hasn't been important enough to use as one of the few questions I get each week. Maybe down the road.
OK, friends. We went overtime today. Lots of coverage coming over the next few days. Come back for more.
