Armstrong told me several times before the recent 6-game stretch of 2 games w/Colorado, 2 w/Vegas and 2 w/Minnesota leading into the trade deadline that the next 10 days were key. Well, in the first half of those 10 days, the Blues went 0-3, albeit with a pair of one-goal losses to the Avs. In the second half of those 10 days, they went 3-0, outscoring the opposition 15-4 (I know, with 9 of those goals coming in 1 game with Minny.) So yeah, he was leaning toward selling before the 3-game winning streak.
As for Hoffman. Yeah, he certainly is stoic, I guess you would say. But I don't think Berube cares about that as long as the effort, the compete level, the defense and most importantly, the goal-scoring are there.
