And now, the Grumpy Chief answer. There are times when I would like a more detailed answer, but I get a kick out of Grumpy Chief. He's not a finesse type of guy in his answers. He also has a habit of dipping out of the Zoom calls after a few minutes if there's too much of a pause between questions. Which can be slightly irritating to someone in my business if you have another question or two to ask. But again, it is entertaiing. I still try to ask him an occasional question to get him to laugh, etc., but it's harder to do in the Zoom format. Craig is a sincere person and I think most of us like sincere people.
Of the three, only Bozak currently is on LTIR. Schwartz, in fact, is still on the active roster. And Parayko, as far was we know, remains on "regular" IR. And thx.
Are you talking about the high stick on Blais on Monday? I thought I saw a little red spot on his forehead.
Payroll relief only if on long-term injured reserve. But the IR designation does free up a roster spot.
And you're probably familiar with her rasing all those foster kids over the years. Yeah,, the apple didn't fall far. . .
Interesting. Yeah, he's not a cheap cap hit: $3.725 million this year and then up to $4.8 million next year.
I would think injuries from the compressed schedule (as well as the shorter training camp) would be more of the soft tissue variety. You know, groins, hamstrings, muscle pulls, etc. The vast majority of the Blues' injuries haven't been of that variety. Bortuzzo (concussion), Bozak (apparent concussion), Gunnarsson (knee in a collission), Barbashev (puck off ankle), Thomas (falls awkwardly on hand/thumb). So I would think more bad luck than anything.
Yep, he's off to a good start.
Interesting on Petro. Hadn't heard wrist. Well, Stone's already missed one game. So I don't think he's ducking anything. Also, Faulk fought in the Jan. 26 game after Bozak went out. Are you suggesting another fight, maybe Clifford this time?
My wife feels the same way.
Unless it's the playoffs, we send only one person on the road. And we're the only St. Louis media outlet still traveling on the road with the team. by the way. I was on that long Cali. trip, which explains why no TomT Blues articles. He was busy part of that time as our lead person on the MVC hoops tourney. I'm doing the chat today because Tom is doing the writing for the paper (and Stltoday) for tomorrow.
Yeah, I'd save it until Petro's on the ice.
I continue to be befuddled by the NHL's approach to player safety.
I think there may be a little soemthing to what you're saying. Also, there's something to be said for specific matchups. When you're playing a team, etc.
We have a lot of fun. Thx for the kind words. We're taping another one tomorrow.
OK, I had to speed-dial my way through the final questions to get done by our 4 p.m. deadline. Thanks as always for your participation!
