The league is focused on head shots with suspensions. Everything else is pretty much fair game. Guys going for the legs is nothing new; Pietrangelo has had a couple of guys come after him during this postseason.
There have been all sorts of indicators that this team is different. And yet Roope Hintz of the Stars missed knocking them out of the playoffs by maybe a foot with his wraparound bid at the end of the third period in Game 7. So it goes in hockey. Anything could happen in Game 6.
Berube didn't want to talk contract during the postseason but, yes, his value has only increased. He has done a masterful job with this team. The same goes for Jordan Binnington. But I would expect the Blues to cheerfully find the money for both.
I believe Flaherty goes Saturday and Wainwright goes Sunday. But, no, the Cardinals are not off to a good start in this series and, yes, this weekend could be problematic.
Well, they are still drawing 40,000 fans per game, so there's that.
Let's hope that he put at least a small investment behind that prediction. That would pay off handsomely.
Keuchel also showed some signs of fading as the miles added up on his shoulder, so that was an issue that scared off some teams.
The Bruins were the favored team coming into the series. With the first two games in Boston, that influenced much of the coverage as well. Lots of Bobby Orr! But I haven't seen how NBC covered the games in St. Louis so I can't comment on that.
The hearing is today. I thought Barbashev hit too high and I believe he will get suspended. He didn't raise up to make the hit, but he didn't try to ease up either.
No, that was a legitimate leg whip. No dive there. I thought he tried to sell it by staying and looking around, but since a concussion spotter wanted him of the ice I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
That's pretty much how I assessed it earlier. Taken in context, this would be the most amazing thing I've seen since getting here in 1986,
Armstrong has already said Berube is his coach going forward. Neither side wanted to work out a deal until after the playoff run.
Overwrought reaction is part of what we do in the media. It's not like we looked the other way on the hand pass game. But chat regulars know that I routinely chastised Rams fans for using the alleged walk-through videotaping as a excuse for losing the Super Bowl to the Patriots. Play the game. If the other side is sitting on your tendencies, then adjust your plan. You are out there for three hours for goodness sakes. For a great player like Marshall Faulk to whine for years about the Patriots' cheating, well, that's just unseemly..
I totally agree. The Rams have been a footnote in our sports history. The Blues are in the fabric of our sports community.
I believe a couple of high-end pitching upgrades could do the job for this team. And maybe the lineup needs one tweak. Despite adding Goldschmidt and despite betting Ozuna and Fowler to return closer to their 2017 form, the offense is weirdly inconsistent. The bench is improved and the batting order is deeper, but the group is not clicking.
My son-in-law is a big Chiefs fan. Maybe he will buck up and take me to see Patrick Mahomes play.
Again, not holding my breath.
I do expect the Cardinals to make adjustments in mid-summer, as they usually do. If they don't, I don't see how they can keep up with the Cubs.
Well, that's not my problem.
