The Cardinals have a million outfielders and they already steal a lot of bases. So I don't see the need.
Preseason NFL. Coaches hate it for the most part. Too much injury risk. They could use a few games to sort out the extras and give the starters a few reps but that's it. Summer League NBA is big because it helps kids adapt to playing against men and a lot of extra guys get European gigs out it. And MLB spring training gives kids a chance to enhances their odds of a call-up in season.
At some point we have to turn the page on Oscar. Maybe he would have become a star, Maybe he would have become Colby Rasmus or Randal Grichuk, playing a long time without reaching stardom.
Sure, he had a lot of success during his time here. I wouldn't be surprised to see a team like the Royals give him a chance to work with a young group. He broke in a lot of guys here and many are doing well here and elsewhere.
