I think I answered this one earlier. Maybe it's a byproduct of some of our issues at the start of the chat, but I think we've seen some questions pop up twice.
We've talked about this a few tmies, how the Blues are trying to mesh Berube's grinding, physical, possession style, with some of the speed and skill the Blues now have on the roster. Sometmies it works and looks great. Sometimies it does't. So it remains a work in progress. Berube has no problem with skill and speed. He just wants players to be responsible defensively. So yeah, I think he can win with this group. I believe Bannister has potential; maybe needs a little more seasoning in the AHL. And Montgomery, of course, has been an NHL head coach before and could get another chance at some point.
I do like "Ville the Kid" but I have no problme with "Puck Finn"
A couple come to m ind. But I can't mention them in this setting.
Kostin is not skating yet to my knowledge - at least not with the team. Neal's been out there a few days but he's on 15 days and 7 games, so he's pretty far down the road
Well, I believe it's Joe O'Brien, 26, who played at Niagara in college and at CBC in high school. He was the Blues' second goalie in practice today at Centene and was used once earlier this season in practice.
You could be on to something.
I've seen a highlight here and there, or read their names in a story or two. But I don't really have much de. Atail other than their stats Schwartz has 5 goals, 13 assists in 23 games. Dunn has two goals and eight assists in 23 games. Both are minus-9. At some point later in the season, I'd like to do a roundup of how the various ex-Blues are doing.
It's been so long since I covered football, I've forgotten! No, not as much different as you'd thiink. People are people. Maybe the football players are a little more outspoken. It's been a little harder to get to know the hockey players because we are in Year 2 of Zoom world under COVID. Miss the face to face interaction. And coaches are coaches. They all have different personalities, but they all pretty much have tunnel vision - focused on the next game. I know that's not much for you, but it's the end of the chat and I'm running out of steam.
Thanks for participating. Time to go. (Taping the Net Front podcast next). Couldn't quite get to all the questions. But try Gordo's chat or come back next week if you didn't get in this timie. Regards. . . . . .
