I'll leave it for others to talk about Blues teams in the past since I'm still basically the new kid on the block. But don't leave out the 2018-19 Cup team in this discussion. It had 13 players with 10 or more goals.
Can't predict the future. But a hot goalie always helps. Keep in mnid, Binnington has lost his last 9 postseason games over the past two seasons, so he's got something to prove next time around.
Great. Thank you so much for filling us in on this. Much appreciated.
Much tougher to gauge this since were not allowed in the locker room in the COVID era. And are pretty much limited to ZOOM interviews. But I'd still rate Binnington up there. Perron has a good sense of humor. and although we've rarely seen it, I'd throw Buchnevich in there as well.
I think we're talking shutdown defensive defensema here. Any offensive skills are merely sugar on top. And if you're talking about a top 4 defenseman, I think you're talking at least $4 million a year.
The trade deadline isn't until March 21, or more than 2 1/2 months away. So we've got a while on this. But I think the ongoing dialogue has been on the need for a top 4 defenseman. I guess there has been some speculation about Arizona's D Jakob Chychrun lately, but I don't think he plays the kind of defense the Blues are looking for.
They are both scheduled for unrestriced free agency after this season. So I dont think you want to trade one without having the other one locked up. And yes, Joel Hofer is in Springfield, but he may still need some seasoning.
Thx for this. Appreciate it.
Good for Tage. Glad to see it. And thanks for brnignig it up.
He's in Piittsburgh covering tonight's game.
Well, if benig a playoff/Cup contender was a high priority - yes.
It definitely is a fun team to watch, and the Winter Classic underscored that ponit. But I don't know how much flexibility there is in terms of ESPN or TNT to change games. Aren't this season's matchups pretty much set in stone?
I don't know what the process is - sorry. But is there really a delay? Or much of a delay? I haven't noticed this. Has anyone else noticed this?
Have no idea. But I think we all agree that having Petro around a little bit - even if he's playing elswhere - is a good thing.
Not really. I've been donig this too long to be "incredibly" intimidated. Alexander Steen could be borderline surly at times, but not too bad. I enjoy the Berube sessions. Even when he's grumpy.
Yeah, he's definitely reaching the stage in his career where he's got to show something. But I think you'll agree that when healthy this is a tough lineup to crack. He skates well, has a good shot. And as you mentioned is physical. But as I've mentioned before, he's never been a big scorer in the minors or even in the KHL.
No comment here from me, but thought I'd through this one out there if anyone wants to chime in.
No. Once the NHL plaeyrs were out of the process, so was Armstrong.
