With all due respect Jim, The Athletic isn't the only publication that has a low evaluation of Parayko. I'm not saying he is a bad player but based on his overall production and play, and the salary he is earning, there are better options out there at a more reasonable cost. He's not an elite player. He's never been to an All-Star game. All I'm saying Jim is for the $7.25m he will be earning this year; I think there are more cost-effective options. But I respect your opinion.

Pietrangelo left because the Blues weren't willing to offer a NMC, and Vegas offered annual signing bonuses with lower salaries which essentially made his contract buyout proof. Petro leaving ended up being a good things (like Pujols) as he's already not playing up to the value of his contract and it has cost his team numerous good players including Fleury, Pacioretty, Stastny, Schmidt, Dadonov, etc. (to answer longlivesudsy)
