Thx for asking. This was my August/early September:
Aug. 5-8 cover Isaac Bruce induction into Pro Football Hall of Fame.
(It was great seeing a lot of the old "StL" Rams - coaches, players, non-football personnel - at Bruce's post-induction party. And great seeing some of my old friends in the football-writing business.)
Aug. 10-15--For the first time in about 30 years my wife and I took a vacation by ourselves. We went to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., which is where we spent part of our honeymoon in 1983. Avoided COVID by staying on the beach and ordering strictly carryout.
Aug. 17-22--Visited oldest son in El Paso, where he's spending a year at Fort Bliss. He's in Army Reserve now, no longer active duty. But saw him get promoted to Major while I was there. So proud of him. Had some great Mexican food and barbecue. Did some sightseeing. Attended El Paso Locomotives USL soccer, and El Paso Chihuahuas AAA baseball games.
Sept. 1-6 - Visited middle son in Washington, D.C. He's an Army captain stationed at Fort Meyer, but lives in the Navy Yard area of D.C. - a great area. He lives 2 blocks from Nationals Park, so saw a Nats game. Attended the Navy-Marshall football game in nearby Annapolis. Lots of sightseeing, including a stroll down memory lane at George Washington University, which I attended from 1972-74, The campus has changed some!
