There's nothing wrong with having eight or nine starting pitchers. They need at least one more with a track record rather than "maybes." I am not including Oviedo or Woodford or Ponce de Leon in this group.
You have asked a very pertinent question. Which DeJong is the real one? The front office will have to make a tricky decision.
Many, many times have I tried and I was the only reporter George talked to while he was here. I will keep trying. And he was the first to wear his pants to his shoe tops.
Kim will not be back either, in my estimation. Can't count on him being healthy enough for full load of starts.
Interesting stratagem. I don't if that would require a consultant's fee, in addition to a player salary.
The players. They win the games. They lose the games.
Shortstop was Edman's original position. He wouldn't be as flashy as Sosa, though.
You're welcome. This will be the most testing year for the front office in a while because I'm sure it felt the players were in place to have a productive lineup. But it is not consistently productive and that must be addressed somehow, meaning perhaps some sort of change in hitting coach philosophy.
He will pitch somewhere next year but for not that much money and not here. oh
You can add only two and I feel certain Woodford would be one of them. The other might be a pitcher, too. Gorman isn't likely because he isn't on the 40-man roster and he wouldn't be playing regularly.
I would say Templeton by a hair because he was the better hitter for average and perhaps faster. Two great talents. One really good player. And Green should have been.
Thanks for all your input today. Time to leave the Pittsburgh airport. I, like the Cardinals, was here too long this weekend.
