There is a lot of heat on Yadi and his offense. I know you have already answered too many questions on this topic so I will make an observation based on the eye test. If you can support with data that would be better. Watching Yadi help Montgomery navigate that 99 pitch 1 hit complete game shutout was magic. Monty had a rougher next outing with Knizner behind the plate. I think we are better with Yadi calling games vs relying on a marginally better offensive performance from anyone else who straps on the mask. Thanks for doing these.

Why hasn't Dal Maxville ever been mentioned for the STL Cards Hall of Fame - he played 10 years with the redbirds - 2 World Series - actually was GM for a awhile - yet he is never mentioned around Cardinals. Same with Jose Oquendo he should be in the Cards Hall - Oquendo should be put in - not voted in - younger people don't really know him

Two things to remember about the Ozuna trade, 1. yes it looks bad now and will continue to be a loser from a Cardinals standpoint, but it’s not totally over yet. I think Burleson came from the compensation pick when Ozuna went to FA. 2. You can’t make big “win” trades like Goldy and Arenado without being willing to “lose”. At least Mo wasn’t so scared off by the Ozuna trade he wasn’t afraid to try the last 2 (and maybe the Bader trade too).

At this point I don't see how Waino isn't back next year. That said, the results have been a mixed bag at times and given his age banking on him being more than a back-end of the rotation pitcher would seem dangerous. We all want Waino to get his HOF numbers but does the Yadi experience give the team pause? Yadi and Waino's $27.5m would fetch one heck of a player in 2023.

This isn't at the 17 in a row level, but this club feels different now that early in the year. Overcoming a bad inning or two seems achievable on a more consistent basis. We still have our warts with non-competitive at bats consistently from a few, but we have been finding a way.

Cards have the best record in baseball since the trading deadline, Mo got the pitchers the team needed without robbing the farm, huge crowds, Marmol looks like a first-rate manager. Young bloods contributing, Albert going out in style. No questions for you, just pointing out reasons to be happy, optimistic and grateful for the team and front office that we have here in St Louis.
