That's probably fair. Molina/Wong or Wong/Molina in the 6-7 is about right on a better team. Maybe even a stretch.
He can be exposed in the expansion draft. He would need a no-movement clause to stay out of the expansion draft and Armstrong famously does not give out no-movement clauses.
The Cardinals did not have a surplus of guys and you can't keep them all on the 40-man roster. The trick is to let the right guys go. They have not mastered that trick.
Also, Wong has more pop than he showed in the small sample this season. We saw more of that during the final weeks.
After seeing nothing but growth for as long as we can remember, pro sports will suffer all sorts of pain, including franchise depreciation. Ticket prices increases have outstripped inflation in most sports for a long, long time and franchise soared to unsustainable heights. The correction is at hand.
