The problem is the national championship game is Jan. 9. Most colleges will start their winter semester shortly after that, so there's really not enough time to delay the opening of the portal for teams to start recruiting potential transfers on Jan. 10 and then give those players time to enroll and start classes at a new school.
Yes, Nick Garner has just taken over as Chief Executive Officer for the collective Every True Tiger Foundation
Nothing new on Foster yet. Hoping to get some clarity on him and a few others soon.
It's impossible to know for sure because they're not obligated to disclose how much money they have stored up and how much they're dishing out. Lots of reports and rumors but it's a guessing game.
I don't think those were well founded. He's Mizzou's WRs coach for now.
I say if you're playing the game it should count on your record. Heck, if they didn't count, I think you'd see more players opt out.
Sure. Mizzou's still the rookie in this league. At 6-6, it's not going to get the benefit of the doubt that it will be as attractive as other SEC teams with the same record. On some level, though, schools can't complain about bowl assignments at 6-6. Much better Mizzou teams over the years didn't get to play in bowls. That said, MU preferred the Gasparilla over other choices, so it's really not complaining about the situation.
Great question. This is going to be misinterpreted for me being a Pinkel honk - and I admit I'm probably biased toward that era - but I suspect there's a strong reality that Mizzou football will never experience a period of sustained success like it did from 2007-14, when they won or tied for the Big 12 North or SEC East five times out of eight years, won 10 games or more five times, played in seven bowls and put a whole bunch of players in the NFL. With playoff expansion on the way, the program could very well have a great year or two in the future, but sustained success like that over nearly a decade? I'm not sure we see that again amidst the current landscape.
OK folks. That's a three-and-half-hour chat. My digits are tired. Look out for a very good read from Calum McAndrew on the Mizzou-Kansas hoops series coming soon. We'll have complete coverage of Saturday's game on Saturday/Sunday.
