Now imagine it hinges on teenage college football players.
I was there when Oli walked through it all. The plan was to lean on the guys who had been nails for most of the season. That's fine normally but not enough what-if was factored in regarding an unpredictable situation with Helsley's finger. Pallante did his job. Got the ground ball. Just wasn't in the right spot, and the depth was kind of in-between defensively because Segura is so fast. The only mistake was asking too much of Helsley and not getting him out sooner. They trusted the finger to be fine and there was no way of knowing that because Helsley had not thrown full-intensity pitches in a game setting since his injury.
The Yankees are not going to let Judge walk. Come on.
Harper should be here. I'll die on that hill.
I would have gone Donovan, Nootbaar and then the big 3. But Donny didn't back me up with his production.
Tony loves Shildty and that would not surprise me. It sounds like he will still have some say in Chicago. Skip could get calls. If the big one comes, it's hard to turn down. That would be a loss here. Shelley Duncan's name is another to watch in this round of manager carousel.
We'll see. I'm good with what I wrote and where I stand on it.
Gotta run, folks. Thanks for the lively discussion and debate. Enjoy the games.
