Alexei Toropchenko lacks scoring ability, but he is willing to play the power forward role to win board battles and cause havoc around the net. Craig Berube absolutely loves him.
We'll have to see about Matz. When a guy has a shoulder injury, he's not really back until he's been back for several starts throwing without a strain. Shoulders are so unpredictable.
We'll see. But like I said, this team doesn't scream "one star player away" right now and there is a pretty long list of prospects they shouldn't trade. This franchise is a year or two away from a potentially significant reset if the front office can wait it out.

There are tanking teams that will move pitchers for a price. There are pitchers on the street or stuck at Triple-A who might be able to help at some point this summer.

I don't sense that Goldschmidt and Arenado will be finished as players in a year or two. Also, I believe this team has a lot of guys who have yet to hit their prime who could be very good players.
He is an everyday player, not a utility player. Once he gets deeper into arbitration, the Cardinals should try to lock him in.
He is betting that the power will somehow operate without Perunovich. And he knows that Perunovich can't make much 5-on-5 against Colorado. But I might have stayed 11/7 and kept Scott on the power play.
I would draft Makar first overall. Maybe MacKinnon, Landeskog and Rantanen after that. And then a bunch of Blues. It's hard to pick one over another, but O'Reilly likely edges out Parayko in that premise as the first Blue.

Really sorry about the passing of Bob Lanier, one of the most underrated big men in NBA history and overall good guy. Any Bob Lanier stories from your Detroit days? Also - how could a team with him AND Dave Bing be so mediocre in the early 70's??
