They must be scrambling to get guys up from Triple-A. Presumably they had those wheels turning ahead of time.
Teams that want to win a World Series should go into the season with the best possible team for 162 games. Unless the team has so much money that it can just keep remaking the roster on the fly, it's always best to put a great team on the field from Day 1.
Well, they got a pitcher anyway. Not that people will like the move.
Unless it's a minor deal, like adding Happ.
That would be stupid, since Bryant can walk after this season/
I can hear the "Everybody clap you hands" sounder in the background.
Yes, well, your team could come into the season with playoff hopes only to see it collapse and then bail.
When did the Cardinals sign Jose Reyes? Is he still playing?
Sounds like burrito didn't settle well.
He's no Wade LeBlanc, let's face it.
He has added a bunch of players on the fly, albeit none of them very exciting.
He needed another pitcher and he traded for one. (Sort of). Fans expecting Max Scherzer were no paying attention.
If he was willing to sign a contract extension here, that would have been worth a high price. Otherwise, no, you are just going down the wasteful Marcell Ozuna trade.
