I disagree. The reasons for why he's left the schools he's left have been stated.
I'm not sure he's that good. He's a more classic post player. Michael is a 6-10 guard.
That was the concern when he was hired. Could he recruit at the power conference level? Could he put together a staff that could go out and bring in impact players? We know the answers.
If I'm Odom I wouldn't feel very secure with another 4-8 season. All is good if Mizzou goes to a bowl in 2017. That's a reasonable expectation.
For years I've heard fans complain that MU has been too cheap when hiring head coaches. Now they spend too much. It's a solid hire. If he gets Porter(s), then it has the potential to be a great hire immediately.
I think that's high praise. I think. You mention me and the best baseball writer in America and I'm happy.
I just like Cuonzo's personality, his demeanor, his background. He's a tough, tough dude. I've always been impressed when I've heard him speak. He's not flashy but he's got charisma. He's genuine. He's serious. He's passionate. Concerns? I don't really get concerned about things that don't affect my quality of life. Does he allow good access and make the beat interesting? If so, I'm good.
I've heard rumblings that he could be in line for an administrative role under Sterk. Stay tuned.
Grawer's dad wasn't on staff at the time. Brian was on scholarship. Haith's kid was a walk-on because he wasn't a scholarship-caliber players, not just because he was Frank's son. I guess from a bean-counter perspective I could see why you'd want Porter to be a walk-on, but come on, he's the No. 1 high school player in the country. I think MU can afford to have him on scholarship.
Yes, that guy was in Camp Conzo. I don't know who gave what, but considering MU athletics made only a $2 million surplus last year, they needed outside help to afford such an increase in pay for the hoops coach.
I'm cautious of teams that just got hot during conference tourney week - and I like Nevada to pull the upset.
He didn't land STL kids at Tennessee unless I'm forgetting someone, but he's familiar with the region for sure from his time at Missouri State.
Was told this week, as others have written, Sterk said from the start "zero chance" Missouri was going to hire Romar.
Maybe, but they need size too. MPJ is 6-10, but he's a wing player, not a banger inside. Smith will be coming off major knee surgery. He not only tore his ACL but his meniscus.
Bri is all but certainly done playing. She missed all of this season with her fifth ACL tear.
I'm not sure off the top of my head which schools also recruited Cuonzo out of high school..... OK, just did some digging. Martin was leaning toward Illinois but backed out after the Illini got hit with some sanctions. He took official recruiting visits to University of San Francisco, Illinois, Purdue and Connecticut.
He brought in Gill-Ceasar and MU was in the running for Thomas Bryant but couldn't close the deal. Rob brought in Phillips and Walton and the two Cleveland guys. Mizzou didn't recruit well enough to build a winner, but Rob got players.
Maybe. I'm sure Ford would have been happier to make that happen with MU's last regime in place. Maybe not as much now.
I doubt many were aware that Pearl is Jewish. Kind of hard not to notice Martin is black.
Justin Smith (former MU defensive end), Danario Alexander, Brad Smith. Just a few off the top of my head.
OK, folks. I've got a lot of writing to do before heading to football practice. May God bless your brackets. Thanks.
