I haven't followed their situation closely enough to have a good read on the situation. It's a unique story for sure.
Yes, they should be loaded for next season. Remember, as great as Cox was, he's still only one wrestler in one weight class. It's not like football where Cam Newton can carry a team of average to above-average players to the national title. You need lots of depth in wrestling to be a title contender - and MU should be in contention for years to come.
Mizzou has its depth sorted out at receiver and in the secondary. They've got some young corners and safeties in the freshman class that could emerge, maybe not this year but in 2018. Kentucky made real strides last year and didn't lose a lot of talent. I think they can win eight games, maybe more.
That's the No. 1 issue that Mizzou faces year after year. The local talent pool isn't deep enough - and when it does produce high-profile kids, they're swamped with interest from more established programs. The head coach at Missouri has to identify talent that others aren't seeing - and then do a masterful job developing that talent. It's much harder to do than some people think. The program's history is lined with coaches who couldn't pull it off. Gary Pinkel's method worked, but years from now we might realize that he was truly the exception.
He really does look like him - and has taken on a bigger role lately, just like Tormund, one of the show's best characters. Which means he'll probably die Sunday.
The stadium has been functional since March, but certain areas weren't complete back in late spring. I'm not sure on the specifics. I was told at one point Mizzou ran out of money to finish the job, but, again, I'm not sure what needs some finishing touches. I would think they'd have it ready to go for the SEC tourney next spring.
I publish just about every question unless it's a repeat or a troll job. Thanks for taking part.
The book is complete on our end, being printed and distributed here over the next six weeks or so. We have a meeting next week to set up our signings and sales events. Stay tuned. It should be available at the start of the season.
OK, folks. Thanks for today's chat. We'll do this again next week on our regularly scheduled Thursday. Have a great weekend.
