He hasn't been traveling to road games. Still on the team. He hurt his chances when he missed all of camp.
There was never any mention of a motion offense. It was more about NBA-style actions, pick and rolls and pick and pops. That's what they're doing.
Yes, I think there could be something to it. He gets a better view of the defense. I'm not sure Josh would admit that but Lock talked about it yesterday.
He can't play this year because he's a Division I transfer. He can play next season but I'm not sure there'll be a scholarship for one. I know he's said he'd like to get one, but if they don't have one available he'd have to be a walk-on again.
He's been very solid as a tackler and blitzer. That's what they ask of him. He'll occasionally get matched in a pass coverage situation, but safeties should be there to help, too. His development in the middle is a big reason this defense has played more solid lately.
Time for a couple more questions ...
Some people interpreted the speech that way. Maybe Odom didn't have that intention, but it came across as if he was blaming the roster/program he inherited.
It was reported a couple years ago that games against Notre Dame and BYU satisfy the SEC mandate that teams must schedule at least one Power 5 opponent, so if we're talking about the same season and unless the rule has changed, BYU will count as MU's P5 opponent.
He's not leaving the rotation. He's a true 5. Tilmon is the only other true 5 on the roster.
Correct. I would think Odom would want someone to help with linebackers and someone to manage special teams.
Hard to say what's troubling him. Could be confidence. He's been a great hands guy up until recently. I'm sure they'll drill him hard in practice. He's a very conscientious kid. He'll take this seriously and try to fix his problems.
He looked good against Kansas and Wagner, so I wouldn't give up on him.
I'll take a hard pass on those.
I think he's worth considering if MU finishes 7-5, but I don't think I'd vote for him over Malzahn (if Auburn beats Bama). Muschamp should get some votes for the job he's done there ... while Florida has imploded under his successor.
That's not going to happen.
I don't see that happening.
Really small body of work so far. He'll run some when it's the right matchup. He might not like how it's looked in practice. Also, he wanted to run zone because he believed MPJ would be perfect for it.
No, but I'd be surprised if he plays again this year.
OK folks. That's it for me. I'll be in Orlando all week for the hoops tournament that starts Thursday, so take some breaks from turkey and football to check out coverage. Ben Frederickson will be in Arkansas covering the football game on Friday.
