Certainly, especially with the McVay ties. But he is a little injury-prone and he turns 31 next season.
Paul it was nice talking with you in the gift shop of the media hotel at the Super Bowl on "selection Saturday." It was strange to see you sweating out the Hall of Fame like all the other finalists. From what I could gather, you just missed induction.
Well, Miami couldn't get him calmed down and under control either. It takes some longer than others to mature. Charley Armey has told me on more than one occasion that he took more heat internally over the Incognito pick than any other draft pick during his St. Louis tenure.
I always thought a healthy Rodger Saffold had Pro Bowl potential.
I agree with your overall premise, minus the chauffeur line. Why go with the cheap shot there? In the beginning, I think the Clinton group had enough money to pull it off. But as the league continued to drag its feet on expansion, and year after year passed, the expansion fee grew and Clinton was priced out of the market. Even so, had he agreed to give the money man _ Orthwein _ the power, or at least most of the power, the St. Louis Stallions would be up and running. I still have a Stallions sweatshirt somewhere at home.
Sorry Dan, you don't get over a 21-year marriage in a few months or even a year or two. Especially when it looks like you'll never be able to "marry" again. Had Kroenke not trashed St. Louis on the way out of town, and the league not misled St. Louis, it would've all been easier to handle. I guess you had to be here to fully appreciate that. Greg Olson did a good job as offensive coordinator for Scott Linehan here. The offense took off in 2006 after Linehan turned play-calling duties over to Olson for the final six games. He's had plenty of experience working with QBs. I've always respected him, although he's worked in some pretty awful situations. Couldn't really venture an answer on the under-the-radar coaches.
And in Andy's words. . . .
Nice of you to check in. How's the weather out there?
Two to three years, if Goff can play.
OK, enough already. Thanks for playing. We'll talk to you next Tuesday.
