I did consult with a couple of people when it came to deciding on the tougher picks, and it sounds like you were in on the conversation! O.J.. vs. Jackson and Proehl vs. Tilley were two of the tougher picks and most discussed. And Rowe's name came up, although not to the same degree as the others. I can especially see the criticism for taking Proehl over Tilley. Believe me, I get that. But Proehl got the edge simply because of the clutch nature of his catches. The Rams aren't in Super Bowl XXXIV without his catch against Tampa Bay in the NFC title game that year.
Don't know about a preseason game, but I'm planning to make a training camp trip there next week. Plenty of buzz about the Titans this year, that's for sure.
Sorry, can't kiss and tell. I'm hoping to do a formal interview with Fisher at some point.
Is that the case? I haven't been able to tell much from the few video highlights I've seen on-line. If that's the case, they better not get 13 straight non-winning seasons like St. Louis got.
I think the plan is to launch the PSL plan this fall. But maybe they wait another year due to the stadium construction delay.
Didn't see it. I was at the Kurt Warner shindig I heard Gabbert played pretty well.
That would've been the 2002 season, when Bulger got his first starts. Pace did play in only 10 games that year. After an 0-4 start, Warner suffered the first of two hand-related injuries.
I had lost track of him to tell the truth. Last I heard, he was in Oakland. But this is his second season with Cleveland. He's gotta be close to 70. But he looks good, still a vibrant personality, and very active on the football field. If you look at his resume' over the years _ he's gotta be one of the top wide receiver coaches in NFL history. Had some good years as OC as well in Kansas City. I spent a little time with him in Berea and hoping to write something on him by the end of the week.
I would guess it's still in storage at the dome.
Been kind of quiet, true.
The sense you get from afar is Raiders are No. 1. It'll be interesting to see what kind of following the Chargers have in LA this year, and if it will take away from the Rams.
From what I can tell, they'd have to overachieve to become bowl eligible this year. The Big 10 is so tough these days, and it's become quite a coaches league lately (Harbaugh, Urban Meyer, etc.) I think Lovie has some good frontline talent, but the depth still isn't there. Keep in mind, Lovie was hired very late prior to his first year, so he was scrambling on everything. But it looks like they're going to be patient in Champaign, realizing this isn't going to be turned around overnight.
Philip Rivers can still sling it. They need some better luck with injuries, that's for sure.
I don't think so. I think it's immaturity. And so far, he doesn't seem to be at the center of the trouble _ but he's always in the picture. What's taking the league so long on his suspension decision? Either suspend, or let it be known he's not being suspended.
Right now, Lovie is recruiting on his name and all the NFL experience on his staff _ which, don't get me wrong is a good starting point. They have a big facilities upgrade coming, which should help recruiting as well. Lovie and his staff seem to be doing pretty well overalll in Florida, Texas, and the St. Louis area. But sooner or later, you've got to start winning.
Oh yea of little faith. But it is a tough challenge, no doubt.
I'll just say _ you probably don't have to worry about 2017. We'll see.
Personally, I think Moss is a first-ballot guy. And as much as I respect Isaac Bruce, I have no problem if Moss gets in before Isaac. But I have a real problem if T.O. does. Despite his "quirks," Moss wasn't nearly the headache that T.O. was as far as I can tell. As an aside, it still astounds me the lack of love Bruce gets nationally when it comes to Hall of Fame. (I'm not talking about the voters, necessarily, but just others in the football media business.) Maybe if Isaac had been a jerk, he would've have gotten more attention.
I sure hope Mizzou and Illinois get to play each other in the near future. The Dome at America's Center is waiting for you guys.
