There was no effort to move Anisimov too.
He was feeling hate even after he got to play for his country, again, in high-end international play.
Well, he's playing hurt. And still playing a Top 4 role. Killing penalties, matching up against top opponents.
Thorburn is one of the placeholder players on the team. The Blues can carry a bigger roster after the trade deadline, but why bother? He is a great guy, but this seems like the time to play younger guys.
With the Blues tanking, Armstrong seized the opportunity to get a No. 1 pick and another forward prospect as part of the long-haul rebuild. The team chemistry obviously not great, so it was time to address that as well.
Goaltender is a position that may need addressing as the team builds up for next season and the year after.
As last report, five teams were still in on McDonagh -- all in the crazy Eastern Conference. Tampa Bay would really rock if it landed him.
Free agency looks pretty underwhelming, unless Tavares tests the market and proves willing to move to the Midwest. The trade market could be fun. Who could have guessed Armstrong could land Schenn? That was crazy.
Ott has a pretty busy work day. I guess we can add him to the list of scapegoats for the season.
Again, his leadership ability was blasted after the Blues took a first-round powder to the Wild on his watch. And now he is missed!
That's not Armstrong's problem. His challenge is to build the best team he can under the cap.
No,that was a great trade. Philly fans still inside Schenn was just a power-play guy. Whatever. The Blues filled a huge hole at center and they filled it with a strong two-way center in his athletic prime with a manageable contract. Maybe Schenn is more of a No. 2 than a No. 1, but to get him and offload Lehtera;s contract -- yes, an Armstrong mistake -- was a miracle. The Blues could spend the picks because they have prospects coming to fit with Schenn.
He is a 19-year-old playing in a grown man's league and it showed. The physical tools are there. He needs more pace in his game. He says he wants to be in the NHL but he needs to pick it up.
Not sure. That depends on whether Crawford comes back and what he has left. The Toews money looks bad now. Seabrook's money is bad. But I do like a lot of their kids . . . but they need much more on the blue line.
Hutton could exit as a free agent this summer. Not sure there is market for him now. Could Allen move this summer? Only if the team had another No. 1 in place.
Kyrou and Thomas starred in junior hockey this year. So far, so good. Blais is a nice prospect but he gets hurt every time he tried to play in the NHL.
