Sure, add a star third baseman and that's a good infield. Ozuna back in left field with two younger outfielders could work, except Fowler is getting paid so he will play some and the young outfielders have either slim or non-existent track record. So who really knows about them,
Not every year, but they will happen.
If he is a starter, he will keep starting until he can't. Rather than set an innings limit in March, I bet they just pay it by ear and see how he holds up. Should he be handled with extra care? Sure, given his shoulder history.
While I've been hard on DeJong, I believe the Cardinals are happy with their All-Star shortstop. He is very sound in the field at a very important position. On balance, the team got good mileage from Grichuk and Piscotty too. Both needed some remedial work in the minors, but both fulfilled their potential. As for Carlson, the company line is that he will not be rushed. Why would he be? Given all the other young outfielders on hand, there will be no need to push him to the majors ahead of time.
The Blues leaving St. Louis.
I'd sure Colorado would start by seeking Hudson and Carlson. They could go from there.
The Blues played a couple of bad periods after an eight-game winning streak. Yes, Berube will move a few things around to refocus the group -- but he's smart enough not to lean on a Cup-winning team that has been the best Western Conference team (by a lot) in the season's first half.
Donaldson wants to get paid. He had to take short term the last time and now he wants to make sure. Apparently he has four-year offers on the table. The competition is spirited among several teams, but some of those bidders could focus on Arenado and/or Bryant trades instead. So Josh can't overplay his hand here.
Good, because I don't bosses around here getting mad at us . . .
If he hits the vesting option, then it's a good bet because he stayed health enough to help.
Thomas could have a Doug Gilmour ceiling, which is very high. Maybe he's a better passer, potentially, than Gilmour but not as dangerous as a goal-scorer. Still, the Blues would take that.
Barring a bounce-back season, you could be right about that.
Burrow is just so good that I have to pick LSU. He can make plays out of nothing. Lawrence is a load, but LSU has the team-of-destiny vibe going.
I have zero insight into that process. Ask Goold or The Commish about that.
A good target for Ozuna seemed to be three years and $45 million. I don't know where the market is now, but I'd be surprised if he settled for just a one-year deal since he does have multiple suitors.
I am not convinced. Maybe Tom Brady is a cyborg.
Are the ratings down? I wouldn't know because I do not watch it.
So far nobody has tried to fob Carpenter off on the Rockies . . .
