I don't recall any all-star projections for Drew Robinson. He spent a minor league career not hitting, which he continued here.
He is a high-end talent and he had time to adapt. The scribes there buried him after his preseason debut, but he is a big-time talent. Now, can he develop at a sensible pace, or will he get crushed in that crazy market?
I bet it gets settled this year. Various owners want it done.
Except when he sits out as the extra player, which became his role once the team got healthier.
I don't believe the MLS is dream is over. This stuff will get worked out.
It was nothing trade at the time because Gonzales was an oft-injured finesse pitcher and O'Neill added power to the pile. Now, yes, the Cards would like a healthy Gonzales back.
I believe he is helping his brother coach at the college level.
Don't hold your breath. And you thought this team should have gotten big return for Skip? Why?
If none of those outfielders emerge as above-average producers, then I bet the Cardinals will use some of their looming payroll flexibility to upgrade.
If Ozuna re-sign, I believe the Cardinals will be fine with that.
If all the young outfielders hit great in the spring, great. Now let's see if they do in the real games. If that happens then yes, over time, Shildt will play the younger guys as he did with Edman. He wants to win.
OK that's it for this time. Long session. See you next time.
