Carpenter needs to play. He's one of your top players, so you owe it to the organization to let him try to hit himself out of the funk.
I'm sure Oh has lots of value, but the Cardinals need to re-sign him. He's a workhorse who can close. The Cardinals don't have a player to replace him if they trade him. Rosenthal has too many health question marks to expect to run him out there three consecutive nights. Heck, I'd be hesitant to run him out four times in five days with a break in between two consecutive outings.
There's reason for optimism because the most important key to winning baseball has been the Cardinals' strength. The starting pitching has been really good.
I cannot answer that question. I think they've made valid offers to star free agents recently.
I don't know. Why does it matter? The only thing that matters is his success in the standings, and he's guided the front office during quite a few winning seasons.
I assume Bill DeWitt Jr. judges every employee, but he also gives Mozeliak a budget and understands that it's not easy winning every year.
He's much better in the leadoff spot.
I see what you did there.
Team leaders know that the manager does the lineup card. He's new to the team. Mike Matheny is responsible for the lineup.
I won't make assumptions about Carpenter's health. It would be irresponsible to claim without proof that a guy is playing hurt or to try to assume that he is. Sorry I can't go there.
What would we debate? The crisis in Syria? We are all on the same team and tend to agree on most things. For the record, if we did debate, we would have Rick Hummel moderate and then correct us both because he has covered way more baseball than us two.
Trevor Rosenthal would be my guess.
The issues are more pronounced with the big league team than in the minors.
The Cardinals lost 13-1. They didn't lose by one, two or three. Quit focusing on one small part of a disastrous outing.
You are right, but he's the whipping boy and hasn't actually done much this season.
Can you imagine if poor Carlos Martinez shows fire? You're damned if you do, damned if you don't. what some perceive as fire, others perceive as immaturity or issues with temperament. They just need to win.
I would re-sign Oh. I think Rosenthal has great stuff, but his health concerns this spring and last season make me wonder if he's an arm you can ride.
I think it stays with Qatar.
I'm sure everything is under the microscope now.
