Gyorko's best position is probably third, and it's where he'll continue to play when Wong returns. There's no need to keep moving Gyorko around.
I have not seen it. Sorry. Sounds like a fun event.
Your opinion has been noted.
You could not possibly do that all at the trade deadline. Who is going to give you anything for Wacha? Surely, you must realize that Grichuk has to put in a good few months to even raise his trade value to what the Cardinals believe he can be worth. If Lance Lynn is your No. 2 starter next year, the Cardinals are in trouble.
There's plenty of blame to go around. The players have not performed up to their own expectations, and they also haven't displayed the fundamentals that you would expect from the guys at Class AAA Memphis and Class AA Springfield.
I spoke with Doug Armstrong today about Klim Kostin. He's very high on him.
If I were GM, I would try to acquire Victor Robles. In other words, they should trade Rosenthal for a quality prospect like Robles.
The Cardinals want to build through their system, which is a good way of building a consistent winner. This season will be the first with a losing record - if they continue on this pace - during Mozeliak's tenure as GM. Do St. Louis fans really expect to be the only ones who don't ever suffer through the ebbs and flows of a major league organization?
The rules are there for all the teams. How do you know they're lying? I had this debate with a colleague in the press box when the Dodgers were in town, and I just said that every team can exploit these avenues to help improve their winning changes.
I don't know how many GMs you speak with on a consistent basis, but I've never found one who shares your harsh opinion of Mozeliak.
They seem to really like Morey, but he hasn't won a title yet.
I assume the Cardinals would try to get the best possible players back. You're not going to turn down a team's top overall prospect if he's an outfielder just to take a shortstop who is the sixth or best prospect in that system just because you don't want another outfielder.
The Cubs are the biggest disappointment in baseball at this point. If Maddon had not won the World Series, I wonder if he'd be on the hot seat right now.
I would assume that the Cardinals are considering all their options with Diaz, but remember that Garcia is also on the 25-man roster.
The Cardinals would have to give up Reyes, Flaherty and perhaps Delvin Perez to get a guy like Stanton.
You assume the same team would want that trio. I would wait a bit before assuming Voit is ready to star in the majors.
Lynn is a free agent after this season, so it would be a good idea to get something back in return. Carpenter might be better suited as a designated hitter in the American League.
Mo and Matheny are both safe.
Some of us noted that the Cardinals needed to make a few more additions to help this team be a contender this year.
A month ago the Cardinals still thought they could compete for a playoff spot. Keep in mind that even now the Cardinals are still within striking distance of the Brewers with more than half the schedule left.
