I've not looked into it very much. I hope it's successful because I have friends who have joined that group. I pray that all my media friends thrive in their current or future workplaces.
As Craig Biggio would say, that's baseball.
Carpenter should be fine as long as he stays at first base. They shouldn't have played him at third base, considering he had a right shoulder injury.
Mabry is very close to Matheny, so I wouldn't expect him to be let go.
I would expect Reyes to be in the starting rotation at some point.
Considering that the Fire and Sporting K.C. want St. Louis in, I would say St. Louis deserves it.
It might have to be. Yadier Molina is one of the best catchers in baseball, and a master at guiding the pitching staff. He's a workhorse, and he's going to keep playing. Kelly should pay close attention, enjoy the big league paycheck, save some wear and tear on his knees and then be ready to blossom when Molina retires. I don't know that Kelly hits enough to justify a move to first or third. Also, remember that he was moved from third to catcher already in his career.
Anything is possible, but I don't think that trade is in the cards at this point. Sorry for the pun.
Oh my. I would assume that this is a case of apples and watermelons. It's not even apples and oranges. Let's see how bad Carpenter's shoulder is before we decide that he is done. I wonder how much his right shoulder injury was worsened by the temporary move to third base.
I think you're right. I will stop posting those questions. I try to ignore them, but sometimes I just automatically hit the next question in the queue.
At this point in the season, you have to expect that the Cardinals will do something silly on the bases at least once a series if not twice a game.
I don't think you can compare it to the hacking of proprietary information, but it's still going to draw a fine. Keep in mind that many teams try to steal signs. Also, keep in mind that many baseball teams subscribe to the old saying that if you're not cheating you're not trying.
It's a testament to the Cardinals' deep farm system that they have been losing quality minor-leaguers in the Rule 5 draft the last two years. They need to find out which Padres scout has been scouting the Cardinals farm system and go hire him.
I bit my tongue early, so I won't rip the MLS2STL mouthpiece who went out of his way to claim that there was no such Plan B in the works.
Thanks. I wish I had free time to play sports. I'm so busy on my days off running my girls to their sporting events.
There is enough blame to go around. The players, manager, coaches and front office all would tell you they wish they could have done some things differently. But remember there are no mulligans in baseball.
Barring some unexpected letdown or injury, Tommy Pham has done enough to be declared my starting left fielder next season.
That is a good question. Only Carpenter knows the severity of his injury. Also, I'd rather have a club full of Carpenters willing to play through pain than some who are willing to sit.
That is a good question. I need to look at the remaining schedule. They have days off on Sept. 11 and 18, so it might be a good idea to try to line up the starters to set up the best four to face the Cubs.
The metrics would say that Jose Martinez is better defensively at first, but not by much.
