Martinez's defense is a liability in the outfield. He's not stellar defensively at first base.
Didn't Dexter Fowler lead you guys off to the first World Series title in 108 years? How quickly they forget.
I would assume that there's a good chance that either Piscotty or Grichuk will be traded this winter.
I would expect that Lynn will get a contract out of the Cardinals' price range.
It has been tough to watch the Cardinals run the bases this year.
I would still bet on the Dodgers to win it all, but they don't look like a clear cut favorite anymore. The Diamondbacks are on fire.
Players picked in the Rule 5 draft must stay on the 25-man roster all season. If they are on the disabled list it's like being on the 25-man roster. He stays with the team that claims him unless that team tries to send him to the minors.
I need to see if he would be lined up to start that game, but he would be the top option.
I would bet that Carlos Martinez definitely has the potential and desire to win a Cy Young Award.
He was fine with the injury at first base. He was thinking about the team, believe it or not.
I think your so-called sources are wrong.
Forward Tage Thompson if he makes the team could have a good impact. I'm excited to see what he can do in camp.
I agree that the future looks bright. This is a fun team to watch.
It doesn't seem realistic to expect the Cardinals to catch the Cubs, but I do think they can earn the second wild-card.
Unless they get an outfielder of Stanton's caliber, I don't know that it makes sense to add another outfielder because you already have Tommy Pham, Grichuk, Piscotty along with Fowler and youngster Bader and Tyler O'Neill. I wonder if Grichuk or O'Neill might provide the pop that a J.D. Martinez would produce.
Breaking news: The Cardinals have acquired former Pirates righthander Juan Nicasio from the Phillies in exchange for minor-league infielder Eliezer Alvarez.
You have to consider Tyler Lyons as the favorite to earn the closer's job unless they make a deal. Sandy Alcantara, Alex Reyes and Adam Wainwright are also potential closers. Reyes and Alcantara have the gas, and Wainwright has the experience and could do it if he thinks he can better serve the team in relief.
It's not a waste or time or breath.
Hopefully the city and county officials will realize that it's in the best interest of the region to work together. The first and best start should be be to start a St. Louis City and County Sports Authority, which is similar to the Houston-Harris County Sports Authority that built and owns Minute Maid Park, Toyota Center, NRG Stadium for Houston. It also owns BBVA Compass Stadium. Perhaps the sports commission can lead the way to bring the county and city together for the good of the people.
