Good afternoon. I hope you're all doing well. We're coming at you live from beautiful Busch Stadium. Please fire away.
Yes, if a player doesn't think he is injured, he can made it public that he's not hurt. Then the Players' Association will fight it.
Keep in mind that these guys are supremely confident. He believes that he's close to turning it around.
I just asked Ben-Fred, but Ozuna is going to be busy this weekend. Perhaps I can check to see if Tyler O'Neill would join us.
To further answer your question, I assume they'll have a tad more patience with Holland. But I hear what you're saying and wouldn't disagree with your mindset on this serious issue.
Sure, send us your wants and needs. Why not.
O'Neill should be in the starting lineup.
They need Wong up right now just because of the infield depth. Holland should absolutely go down. The Cardinals have better options than Fowler right now, but there's no way they'll ship him down.
My favorites so far since I've been in St. Louis, in no particular order: Harrison Bader's promotion to the majors, Sandy Alcantara's year-long growth, the L.I.F.E. kids' rap on Bob Gibson, Yairo Munoz's versatility column, the column on Carlos Martinez's foundation's fight to save Camille's life. Thanks for reading.
No. We haven't heard. We've been trying to verify.
You're not the only one who has been asking this question.
I would disagree with you. If anything, Matheny deserves credit for trying to mix things up to shake some of the players out of their struggles.
I wouldn't say that Donaldson would be a downgrade from Gyorko, but I would say that Gyorko has absolutely earned the right to start consistently for the Cardinals.
It all depends. The pitching staff deserves some good defense behind it. But if Carpenter continues to hit the way he has over the past week, I'd keep him in the lineup. Granted, he hasn't looked very good at the plate so far today.
He is here now. I don't know when he actually arrived at the ballpark, but my colleagues in the press box noticed him in the dugout in the third inning. I won't speculate why he was scratched, but I promise you that we will ask Matheny later today.
I don't see that happening. Plus, Jedd Gyorko has been playing well at third base.
Mike Matheny noted that the pitching coaches and Holland are working hard to try to help Holland get on track. Matheny said that they may have noticed something on video recently. I believe that Holland should head to Memphis to get back on track under less stressful situations.
O'Neill will likely strikeout quite a bit. That's not unusual for a power hitter. He struck out 151 times last year between Class AAA Memphis and Class AAA Tacoma and 150 times in 2016 at Class AA Jackson.
I think you're wrong on this one.
